Case Studies

  • What are the available models for the tour guide system?

Chiayo Electronics offers both digital and analog transmission modes, allowing you to choose the model that best fits your needs and functionality.

    • Digital: DCT-611/DCR-611 Wireless Tour Guide and Interpretation System: This digital system provides reliable and clear audio transmission, ideal for professional tour guides and simultaneous interpretation.
    • Analog: CT-711/CTR-711 UHF 100-Channel Wireless Tour Guide and Interpretation System: A versatile analog system with 100 UHF channels, suitable for various tour guide applications.
CT-800 UHF 100-Channel Desktop Transmitter Wireless Tour Guide and Interpretation System: This desktop transmitter is perfect for stationary use in settings like museums or conference centers.
  • What is tour guide system?

The guide system is a portable short-range radio equipment that consists of a wireless transmitter with microphone (for tour guide or lecturer) and several wireless receivers with headphone (for tourists). The purpose of the tour guide system is to let visitors clearly hear their guide's voice by the wireless receiver, and a guide doesn't need to speak loundly in noisy environment. The tour guide system is suitable for groups of over 10 people.

  • Why should I use a tour guide system?

The tour guide system can overcome the annoying background noise and let each member listen to the tour guide on an appropriate volume without concerns of distance to the tour guide. The guide has no sore throat even if he conducts many times a day, and he does n’t have to repeat for everyone. Such ease usage increased the attention of the members and largely improve the tour quality. Users of the tour guide system tend to be more impressed with their visits, and regard you as a professional company that attaches great importance to visitors.

  • How to use the wireless navigation system?

The group guide or speaker must carry a transmitting device and microphone while each listener must carry a receiver with microphone and  earphone. The transmitter and all receivers in a group must be tuned to the same channel.

  • Is there a limit to the number of groups?

There is no limit to the number of tourguide receivers in a group. For visitors to clearly hear the guide's explanations, they only need to be within the coverage area of the transmitter.

  • Is there a limit to the number of transmitters?

Only one transmitter can be used at a time in each group. Several speakers can use a transmitter in the same group, but they must coordinate among themselves because they can't use two or more transmitters in the same group.

  • Is there a limit to the number of groups?

When using DCT / DCR digital tour guide system, there can be several groups (up to 20 digital transmission groups) in the same area. Each group must be on a different frequency channel.

Please note: If using CT / CR analog tour guide system, there can only be two groups in the same area. It's not possible to add a third analog group in the same area. This is a limitation of the analog system.

  • What is the transmission range?

A quality tour guide system should allow the receivers to hear the tour guide's comments while being at a distance of at least 60 meters.

  • Types of microphones?

The tourguide transmitter can use different microphones. Two types are typically used:

    1. Headset or head microphones: The microphone includes a headband to adjust onto the guide's head. It is also highly recommended that the guide use tour guide system when moving or in noisy environments. Having the microphone so close to the mouth effectively captures the voice while the ambient background noise is lower.
    2. Lavalier microphones: The microphone has a clip which snaps onto the neck of the shirt. This microphone is used when the speaker is standing still or sitting down.
  • Types of earphones?

Visitors can use three types of  microphones with the receiver.

    1. Monaural earset: This is the most commonly used type and is suitable for guided tours in enclosed and open spaces. But it is not recommeded that this tour guide system is used in noisy environments.
    2. Headphones: These fit over the head thanks to a headband. Audio can be heard through both ears. These are only recommended in noisy environments.
    3. Disposable earbuds: Because the button-shaped earbud is inserted deep into the auditory pavilion. They cannot be shared because they are not hygienic. The user does not have to return them upon finishing the tour.
  • Do I need to buy spare batteries?

Not for DCT / DCR digital system: Each transmitter and receiver has a built-in lithium battery which must be disassembled and replaced by a qualified technician. It should not be replaced by yourself. It can be charged or stored with a charging case.

Yes for CT / CR analog system: Both the transmitter and receiver use standard AA batteries. You can also purchase CHIAYO standard NiMH batteries.
It can be charged and stored in a charging case.

  • Do I need a license for this system?

The DCT/DCR system operates at 2.4GHz and can be freely used around Europe and most countries.

The CT/CR system operates between 500-960MHz and can only be used in local legal bandwidth.
