Frequently asked questions

Simple DIY trouble shooting

Case Studies

  • What should I do if the conference microphone has no sound?

If the conference microphone is not producing sound, follow these troubleshooting steps:

    1. Check Main Unit Power: Ensure that the main unit's power switch is turned on properly.
    2. Press the TALK Button: Confirm that the TALK button on the microphone has been pressed to activate it.
    3. Chairperson Priority: Verify if the chairperson priority function is activated, which might be muting other microphones.
    4. Inspect Connection Cables: Check for any loose or faulty connections in the cables. Ensure they are securely plugged in or replace them with new audio cables if needed.
    5. Check Amplifier Volume: Make sure the amplifier volume is not set too low.
  • Why is the power indicator light on the conference system not turning on?

If the power indicator light on your conference system is not turning on, please check the following:

    1. Check the Power Supply: Ensure that the power supply is properly connected to the system.
    2. Verify the Power Switch: Make sure that the power switch is turned on.
    3. Inspect the Network Cable: Check if the network cable is faulty or not connected properly.
  • Why does feedback often occur during conference speaking?

Feedback during conference speaking can happen for several reasons:

    1. Microphone Too Close to the Output Speaker: If the microphone is placed too close to the speakers, it can cause a feedback loop where the sound from the speaker is picked up by the microphone, amplified, and then output again, leading to a loud feedback noise.
    2. Output Settings Too High: If the output levels on the amplifier or mixing equipment are set too high, it can cause the microphone to pick up excessive sound from the speakers, resulting in feedback.
    3. Too Many Microphones Active: Having too many GM-243 units active simultaneously can increase the chances of feedback, as more microphones can pick up sound from the speakers, amplifying the risk of a feedback loop.
  • What should I do if the conference microphone’s sound reception is not sensitive enough?

You can adjust the sensitivity of the microphone by fine-tuning the GAIN knob located on the back panel of the GM-243 unit. This allows you to increase or decrease the sensitivity of the microphone head, thereby improving sound reception according to your needs.

  • The audio output is too low and cannot be increased.

The XLR balanced audio output signal is set to MIC OUT. If it is connected to a LINE IN or AUX IN input, it will result in a low audio output level. Incorrect selection of the input type can significantly affect the sound quality. Ensure that the XLR output is connected to the appropriate input type (e.g., MIC IN) to achieve the correct audio level and maintain optimal sound quality.

  • The audio output volume is too high and cannot be reduced.

The 6.3mm unbalanced audio output signal is set to LINE OUT. If it is connected to a MIC IN input, it will cause the audio output to be excessively high. Incorrect selection of the input type can significantly impact the sound quality. Ensure that the 6.3mm output is connected to the appropriate input type (e.g., LINE IN or AUX IN) to achieve the correct audio level and maintain optimal sound quality.
