On September 6, Chiayo Electronics inaugurated its new “CHIAYO Art Space” and opened the fifth event of the Chiayo Art Season — “Two Porcelains in Harmony”, a joint porcelain panel painting exhibition by Cai Yongwu and Huang Shimin, on view until October 15.
Previously, Chiayo transformed its lobby and meeting areas into exhibition sites. Though informal, these spaces carried vitality through the passion of Chairman Kung and colleagues. To provide a professional platform, with guidance from former Chiayi City Cultural Affairs Director Lin Ching-Ping and planning by Artistic Director Liu Yuliang, the company renovated its offices into a gallery, redesigned the reception and showroom areas, and created a flow from art into technology.
The inaugural exhibition highlights the couple’s distinct approaches: Cai’s high-temperature glaze splashing embraces the unpredictability of glaze flow to form unique atmospheres, while Huang overlays low-fire overglaze colors on porcelain bases, often with floral themes, revealing a refined yet resolute voice. Together, their works embody harmony like glaze and fire — mutually resonant and complete.
